Telling You Was Hard

I thought you were a hero
But telling you was hard.
Your strength and honour made me proud
But telling you was hard.

Why though was it difficult
To say these things out loud?
To articulate these feelings?
I wish I had done now.

You taught me to be strong
When the world was dark for me
I don't know if I thanked you?
Well if not I do so now.

Thank you Dad for caring
And thanks for loving me.
I love you too. I hope you know
Because telling you was hard.
