Just A Pause

by Richard John Scarr
(Brighton, East Sussex, England )

Do not weep. I do not sleep,
nor lie beneath the ground.
My Earthly Shell was buried deep.
But my Soul went Heaven Bound.

There is no death. We merely go,
from Earth to whence we came.
Nor do we sever Earthly Bonds.
For loving hearts remain the same.

And with those ties, love does not die.
While absence makes the heart grow fonder.
And the little time we spend apart.
Truly makes our love grow stronger.

My journey home is just a pause.
Until you join me too.
And come your time, then I will know.
And I'll be there to bring you through.
