I'll see you again one day

by Kate
(UK)

When I wake I wonder if it has all been a bad dream
I hope things are not what they seem
Then I remember that you are no longer here
I blink hard, to hold back the tears

I think of the fun times that we shared
I smile at the advice you declared
I wonder how I will get by in this life without you
And I feel a little scared, I feel a little blue

Then I remember that you have not really gone
You have simply passed over, you have just moved on
To a place where you are reunited with family and friends
To a wonderful life where love never ends

I think of your joy when you left this plane
To realise to your surprise, you were even more alive
Although I feel sad that things can't stay the same
Life is an experience, a learning curve, a game

Eventually we will all have to leave this world behind
But we should embrace this transition with an open heart
For we will all meet again, and be once more entwined
So be sure to seize the life you have and make your mark
