Comfort

by Deborah Henson
(Roland, OK USA)

There is a strength for you and me===
'tis that_________we call faith.
And as the sea
dashes on the _________
To no avail
So storms may come to us,
But in the gale
We lean upon that faith and___________________________
We see a beacon light
It is the shore.

This poem was on my grandmother's memorial page for the funeral, but the design was in the way and the blank parts
cannot be read.

Is there some way that the blanks could be filled in for me,if the poem can be found.

The name on the bottom after the poem is Franklin Lee Stevenson

Thank you
Deborah Henson

Thank you Susan for providing the information. Franklin Lee Stevenson created a company which I now own called The Poet's Study, Inc. You can find many of his poem and prayers throughout the country and this was of the more popular ones.

Comfort
by: Richard John Scarr

It is a lovely poem. But a bit of a mystery. you see, the poem "COMFORT" by Franklin Lee Stevenson that I know, goes as follows.

Another leaf has fallen.
Another soul has gone.
But still we have God's promise.
In every Robin's song.
For he is in his Heaven.
And although he takes away.
He always leaves to Mortals.
The bright Sun's golden ray.
He leaves the fragrant blossoms.
And lovely forest green.
And gives us new found comfort.
When we on him, lean.

"Comfort"
There is a tower of strength
For you and me...
'Tis that which we call faith
And as the sea
Oft dashes on the rocks
To no avail
So storms may come to us,
But in the gale
We lean upon that faith
And soon once more
We see a beacon light...
It is the shore.
