That would convey my heartfelt affection. And was a reflection of how I felt about my dad.

Farewell To Dad

Dad, you aren’t here to hear this
But you truly need to know
That throughout my life you directed me
Against the ebb and flow
Of difficulties and successes
You were always there to guide
Your hand soothed my stresses
In your wisdom I’ll reside.

Now you’ve traveled onward
To a place I cannot see
While I miss you every moment
I know you’re still with me.
Your love and strength surrounds,
Your life, I can follow.
And now I can find peace,
In grief I will not wallow.

Today we say farewell
But only for awhile
For love and memories always
Vanquish eternal miles.
You were always there for the child in me
And I will honor your memory
By being all that you taught
And making my future, your legacy.
